“I’m with you about grabbing coffee and flipping on the news, it has become a habit. I would consider myself a news bluff. My favorite news program is the Today Show because it’s informative, truthful but still has a level of “soft news”. So much of the “news” today is negative and it seems that the positive things sometimes get pushed to the back burner. I enjoyed your article, as a future PR professional it’s interesting to see how different situations are handled. PR is being able to be honest and truthful without throwing your company totally under the bus. I feel like the more you can learn from others the easier it will be when you are in that position. Thanks for posting!”

TOW 6 – Corp PR interview , Juliet Jones

“I think it’s always so interesting to interview a PR professional and learn what a day or week is like in their shoes. I feel like while some stuff is generally the same, you usually learn something different from each person. I enjoyed reading this interview and liked Lance’s advice of keeping an AP Style Book on hand; I have learned from experience that it’s always a good idea to do so. I think it is also interesting to know that he didn’t specialize in public relations in school but that hard work got him where he is. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with how much the public relations career entails but it’s comforting to know that with diligence and endurance you can be successful. Thanks for sharing your interview!“

“Crisis PR is one aspect of public relations that I find exciting as well as a little nerve racking. I like hearing from pr practitioners and how they deal with crisis communications in their career. I agree with you that organization as well as preparation can play a vital role in PR crisis management. Whether it’s having a holding statement ready, being on top of the “hot button” issues going on at the time or just being proactive and trying to prepare for a possible crisis situation, the organization and preparation can help make the process go a little smoother. I also agree that being honest and vulnerable will earn you respect when a crisis situation occurs. Thanks for posting this; it’s always good to hear about how to deal with this element of PR, as it can be one of the more vital parts of your job.”

“Jackie, I enjoyed reading this post and found myself continuously nodding my head. I will soon be in the same boat as you when I graduate in December. I am in the process of updating my resume, compiling a portfolio and freshening up my interview skills, beyond that I think it’s just “being in the right place at the right time”. I am also finding myself trying to keep on top of all of the latest social media tools as this is starting to become the “new way” of PR. I hope that you have some luck soon – thanks for posting your thoughts and advice!”

“I really liked your post about public speaking. I agree with you, I also enjoy public speaking – especially if it’s something that I’m passionate about. I thought your tips were great and very informative! I think everyone can always afford to freshen up and improve on their public speaking skills. You did a great job at pointing out the important things such as speaking clear, preparing and dressing the part but one of the most important that you listed was to “have fun”. I think we must always try to remember that one because when we do it will help us relax and smile. Thanks for the great post!”

“I agree with your post, I think this feature of WordPress is great! Like you mentioned in your post it’s a free market research tool that can provide you with valuable information. I find it important because you can alter what you may or may not be doing to make your blog more applicable to your audience. I think it’s also interesting to see what posts get more visits then others and how often your site is read. It’s always good to find out that someone is listening. I find your blog very informative, especially for the public relations professional. Thanks for your post!”

“Whitney I enjoyed reading this post. I agree with what you said that reading pr blogs can help you find jobs, gain knowledge and receive encouragement. I always find it motivating when an experienced PR professional takes the time to lend me advice. Reading blogs can be very beneficial and help you not only gain knowledge but it also helps to establish relationships with the professionals. I also agree that it is very helpful in the sense of staying current, there are things posted on blogs everyday that help inform you what is going on and what is working in isn’t working in this career path. Thanks for posting!”
